We dislike being followed around the internet as much as your dog dislikes grapefruit skin, so this site keeps its distance. No accounts, no profiles, no advertising pixels riding in your blind spot.

What we do see is the ordinary, anonymous traffic count every website sees — which pages get read, roughly where in the world readers come from. It tells us whether the field guides are useful; it does not tell us who you are.

When you click through to Amazon, you travel on Amazon's roads under Amazon's own privacy policy, and our tag rides along only so the register knows which catalog sent you.

Write to us by email and we will use your address to answer you — that is the whole itinerary. No lists, no newsletters you never asked for, no passing your address to strangers at the crossing.
